While most vExperts do blog, there are many ways that you might already be contributing to the VMware community that can earn you the 2025 vExpert award. Below, we will outline some of the many different ways you can achieve this recognition but remember you must apply for the award.
Book Author / Co-Author / Editor
Authoring, co-authoring, or editing books about VMware technologies is a significant contribution. Sharing your expertise in a structured and accessible way helps the community learn and grow.
Sharing Code
Sharing your code on platforms like code.vmware.com, personal websites, or other mediums is another great way to contribute. Code snippets, tools, and integrations you share could help others implement and innovate with VMware technologies.
Enterprise Influencer
Teaching your peers within your organization about VMware is an impactful way to make a difference. This can include 1-on-1 training, hosting larger internal meetings, webinars, or even in-person sessions focused on VMware technologies and best practices.
Event Speaking
Speaking at VMware Explore or other industry events is a valuable way to share your insights and experiences with VMware technology. This not only elevates your profile but also enriches the community with new perspectives.
VCDX Certification Holder
If you have achieved VMware Certified Design Expert (VCDX) certification, congratulations! You are automatically awarded the vExpert title but you still must apply.
VMUG Leader
Active participation as a VMware User Group (VMUG) leader, co-leader, or committee member is another pathway to earning the vExpert title. Helping to organize events, foster community interaction, and share knowledge are core to VMware’s community.
Forums Moderator
Moderating VMware-related forums such as VMTN, VMware sub Reddit, or similar platforms showcases your dedication to helping others solve problems and learn about VMware solutions.
Podcast Host / Co-Host
Hosting or co-hosting a VMware-related podcast is another fantastic way to contribute. Podcasts provide a platform to share insights, interview experts, and keep the community informed about the latest trends and technologies.
